After 21 years at MacEwan University, Stuart MacLean retired from his associate vice-president, Facilities position on February 1, 2021.

Over the years, Stuart MacLean led the Facilities team to achieve many accomplishments, such as the construction of the Robbins Health Learning Centre, University Service Centre, Student Residence and Allard Hall. With his leadership, the Facilities department also attained certification in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management. These certifications are unique in Canada for the post-secondary field.

The Facilities department will continue to follow in Stuart MacLean’s footsteps to maintain and construct campus buildings that are clean, bright and safe, and to provide facilities that are functional and sustainable.

At the latest City of Edmonton public hearing where Stuart MacLean represented MacEwan University, the City Council took time to recognize him as a great collaborator and a great city builder. Here is the recording that the city has consented for us to share.
