The latest Windows 10 update (1909) will be available on Thursday, September 24 at 6 p.m.

To ensure MacEwan systems get updated with the latest security and operating system patches, MacEwan will be automatically updating laptops and desktops to the newest version of Windows 10.

If you are onsite, you will automatically receive the update next time you restart your workstation after Thursday evening. We recommend restarting your workstation Friday morning to apply the update.

If you are offsite with a MacEwan laptop or desktop, you will first need to connect to Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

It can take up to 90 minutes for the update to show up. We recommend you force this by checking for updates as follows:

  • In the Windows 10 search bar, type “windows update” and press enter.
  • The Windows update screen will open.
  • Press “Check for Updates”
  • Your system will then check and install the appropriate updates.

If you have not connected to VPN for some time, you may have to install other updates. This process can take up to one hour to complete.

Otherwise, downloading and installing the updates will take up to 20 minutes. Do not disconnect from VPN during the installation. After completion, you will need to restart your computer.
