Alright so I don’t know about you guys but lately I get these feelings. And it’s the feeling like “man I can’t wait till I can take a shower”. It’s like a reward. If you finish this paper, chapter, assignment than you don’t have to feel like a disgusting mess! Awesome. Yup this feeling is on the rise. And don’t kid yourself… we’ve all done it.

And yes finals are right around the corner. Actually, I should be prepping for them right now. However, I just wanted to tell all of you how I deal during this time of year. So when I start studying I might be ok for like 30 minutes before I get distracted and then later when I try to get back to studying I just can’t seem to focus. Really all this means is I have a lot of uncontrolled energy and the best way I know how to get rid of it so I can better concentrate is going to the gym.

A fitness class usually only takes an hour of my time and afterwards I feel great and I have lost most of that weird energy that prevented me from focusing before. I know it’s difficult to pick yourself up to go to the gym sometimes but I feel as though people forget about their body when finals hits.

Exercising your brain is awesome but just like your body, your brain needs a break too. It’s all about balance and you will know when your brain needs a break. You know, when you read that one sentence over and over and still have no idea what it said. Yup, it happens to the best of us, so get up, go for a walk, do some yoga, let your body know you haven’t forgotten about it completely.
