The university will limit access to buildings beginning at 8 a.m. on December 20. The objective of this plan is to reduce further the number of people on campus and help to bend the curve of COVID-19 transmission in our community.

Building hours and campus access: 8 a.m., December 20, 2020 to 12 p.m., December 24

  • All pedways will be closed. The SAMU Building will be closed with no access for employees or students.
  • Buildings 6 and 7
    • Open December 21 to 23, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., December 24, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Access via north and south clock tower entrances only.
    • To access after hours, call Security Services (780-497-5554). Note: The Tech Support desk and study space will be open on the second floor of the library for limited hours.
  • Access to all other buildings will be limited
    • Ground-level access:
      • Employees with EBI cards can enter buildings from the street-level doors listed below. Those without EBI cards can call Security Services (780-497-5554) for access.
        • Building 5: Northwest door
        • Building 8: Northeast door. Note: Sport and Wellness is offering online fitness and wellness programs.
        • Robbins Health Learning Centre: Southeast doors
        • Allard Hall: North doors and south doors
        • University Service Centre: Elevator lobby doors
        • Alberta College Campus: North door
    • Access via underground parkades: Monthly cardholders only can access the City Centre, Robbins Health Learning Centre and Allard Hall parkades from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Daily parking will NOT be available in underground parkades.

One-hour pick-up and drop-off parking will be available in all “keyhole” parking. All surface parking lots will be open from December 20 to 24 at no cost to MacEwan employees.

Holiday closure

All university buildings will be closed from December 24 at 12 p.m. to 7 a.m., January 4. Access during this period must be arranged with Security Services.
