Join us on Wednesday, November 25 from 12 to 1 p.m. via Webex for the next Office of Research Services (ORS) webinar in the Fall 2020 Virtual Workshop series: Health City and MacEwan Collaboration, led by Dr. Craig Kuziemsky and Health City CEO Reg Joseph.

Background

Health City acts as a hub of expertise in the health industry that also supports the broader innovation ecosystem in the Edmonton region and beyond. Health City has a dual mandate to transform the health sector to drive better health outcomes and economic development. Health City works with clinicians to identify key challenges in our health system that can be addressed with innovations – many that are locally sourced. Health City was created to be disruptive, unique and nimble – a broker and catalyst for the ecosystem to transform innovations from our health sector into solutions that have commercial application and global relevance.

There are several projects that Health City is pursuing, one of which is community health to address the issues that affect citizens’ health before it becomes chronic or acute. MacEwan University recently began conversations to engage our faculty and students with some of Health City’s projects. We believe there could be several avenues for collaboration between Health City and MacEwan faculties and schools, including leveraging MacEwan’s strength in community engaged scholarship. Our co-op and experiential learning programs could provide opportunities to connect students with Health City projects, positioning our graduates to make an immediate impact in Alberta’s health, economic and social systems.

Register for this event to hear about the great work being done at Health City and to discuss how we can further our collaborations with them.
