Update on Allard Hall construction

Submitted by on 2020/01/22 – 8:30 am

In September 2020 we will welcome the students, staff and faculty of the School of Continuing Education (SCE) to City Centre Campus!

A project is underway to develop space for the SCE on the fifth floor of Allard Hall and in the remaining shelled-in spaces on the third and fourth floors of the building. When complete, the space will include:

  • A stairwell from the fourth floor to the fifth floor in the Elder Jerry Wood Atrium
  • Twenty-four standard classrooms in various sizes
  • Two computer labs
  • One language lab
  • Two science labs
  • Four dedicated classrooms professional development and contract training
  • Administrative space for all SCE staff and faculty

You will soon notice an increased number of contractors in and around Allard Hall. Trailers have been installed in the parking lot behind Allard Hall for their use. We will be running two shifts to meet the project’s aggressive timelines, which will cause increased noise levels in the building. We recognize that this will be an inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience as we move through this project.
