Student unessays on display in the library
This term, the students in Dr. William Thompson’s ENGL 389, Topics in Children’s Literature, were assigned the unessay. The unessay is a creative and innovative means of engaging with literature. You can see some of these unessay projects on display in the John L. Haar Library, near the Reference Desk until after the Christmas break.
Students in the class engaged with such texts as T. H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Richard Adams’ Watership Down, and Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass. From PowerPoints to posters to dioramas, take a walk through the library and check out these creative and interesting expressions of student engagement.
A big thank you to Kathy Blasko in the library for arranging the display, and a thank you to the MacEwan Library for showing such interest in our students’ work.
