Terry’s Cause on Campus: “Finish the Marathon”

Submitted by on 2014/10/01 – 8:30 am

MacEwan University’s second annual Terry’s Cause on Campus event kicked off on September 15. Our goal is to finish Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Terry’s dream ended in Thunder Bay, Ontario. To finish his journey to Victoria, British Columbia, we need your help logging 3,096 kilometres or 4,086,720 steps. This year there are a number of ways to get involved. You can walk or run to complete the journey and raise money and awareness for Terry’s Cause. All activity will be tracked in the UWALK program under the MacEwan University Terry’s Cause on Campus Challenge.

UWALK challenge

Students and staff can participate in the UWALK challenge from now until October 10. Steps can be tracked using a fitness app and added to your UWALK profile under the Terry’s Cause on Campus challenge.

To register on UWALK, go to http://UWALK.ca/.

If you would like to collect donations for Terry’s Cause on Campus online, please register at: http://www.terryfox.org/CauseCampus/Participants.html.

Value-added class donations

During the week of October 6 to 10, participants in the value-added classes at the fitness centre will be invited to make a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation by purchasing donation cards at the Access Desk as they enter the class.

You can also make a donation to Terry’s Cause on Campus through the mstore or the Sport and Wellness Access Desk until October 10. You can also make a donation at http://www.terryfox.org/CauseCampus/Participants.html.

T-shirts are available at the Sport and Wellness Access Desk for $20.
