UWALK Summer Steps Group Challenge: What’s your next flight?
Stair climb your way to better health
Intensity, duration and frequency are contributing factors to the benefits of physical activity. Walking is considered to be a low-moderate intensity aerobic exercise while stair climbing is considered to be more of a moderate-vigorous intensity workout. In addition to being aerobically taxing, stair climbing also provides muscular strength gains, engaging your hamstrings and glutes as you push to the top!
Did you know one flight of stairs counts as 10 steps? Or that 15 minutes of stair climbing is equivalent to 30 minutes of running?
