Fostering and promoting research in sexual violence

Submitted by on 2020/02/19 – 8:30 am

MacEwan University is committed to creating an environment free from sexual violence. The Sexual Violence Prevention Education Committee (SVPEC), has been involved in the creation of many impactful initiatives at MacEwan, including Sexual Violence Awareness Week, a community of sexual violence support guides, and the Ending Sexual Violence Research Forum for undergraduate researchers.

Now, SVPEC, with leadership from faculty co-chair Dr. Sandy Jung, is seeking to conduct a needs assessment in order to support faculty members whose research focuses on any aspect of sexual violence. We are reaching out to the academic community at MacEwan to find out who is currently engaged (or looking to be engaged) in this area of research. If you find yourself, your colleagues, or students working in the area of sexual violence, or interested in working in this area but aren’t sure how to get started, we ask that you/they please get in touch with us at osvper@macewan.ca.
