Violence on Campus Awareness course through Blackboard

Submitted by on 2016/10/12 – 8:30 am

Acts of violence can happen anywhere: on the street, at home, in public places and even on campus. It’s important to recognize signs of danger and know how to prevent or survive a violent incident.

MacEwan University is now offering a Violence on Campus Awareness course to help the university community understand, identify and navigate potentially violent situations, such as physical attacks, threatening behaviour and verbal, written or social media threats. All employees and students are highly encouraged to enrol in the 60-minute course, which is delivered via Blackboard. Topics covered include:

  • Risk awareness and mitigation
  • Campus security and safety measures
  • Incident response and reporting
  • Resources and legislation

As members of the MacEwan University community, we all play a role in keeping our environment safe. By working together, we can continue to keep our campus and community safe for all.

For information on how to enrol in the Violence on Campus Awareness course, visit the Security and Safety web page.
