Upcoming test of university’s new emergency alert system
The first test of the new MacEwan Alert system will take place on Thursday, February 26.
MacEwan Alert is a new mass notification system that will notify you about any incidents and actions you may need to take in the event of a campus emergency. Emergency incidents may include anything from severe weather and building closures to violent incidents and other threats to the safety of the campus community.
On Thursday, a test email will be sent to all university email accounts, including faculty, staff and students.
This will be a one-time test of the system’s ability to send emergency email. It is very important that you follow the simple directions in the message, which will ask you to reply by clicking a link. Your response will be very valuable in helping us measure the system’s effectiveness.
