Telus in-building antenna project

Submitted by on 2014/12/23 – 8:30 am

After more than six months of planning and work, TELUS, in collaboration with Facilities and the Office of the Chief Information Officer, is ready to start installing enhanced in-building cellular infrastructure across City Centre Campus.

Beginning in January, antennas will be installed on each floor of every City Centre Campus building, resulting in improved cellular coverage and stronger, more dependable cellular connections for all cellular networks, be it for phone calls or text messages.

More than 255 antennas and accompanying infrastructure will be installed across campus buildings, including the Residence. This infrastructure work will take several months to complete. All cabling work will occur in the evenings, typically after classes are finished.

The project team will provide a detailed schedule of work in the new year and will work with the various business areas to coordinate the installer’s activities and to ensure the least possible amount of disruption.
