City Centre building mass notification system test

Submitted by on 2014/12/03 – 8:30 am

The City Centre Campus building mass notification system will be tested on Tuesday, December 16 at 11:55 a.m.

This mass notification system is a critical part of the university’s Integrated Emergency Management Plan, and provides real-time information to all building occupants or persons in the immediate vicinity of a building during emergency situations. Volume levels and clarity of the system must be tested regularly to ensure that messaging can be heard and understood.

This test will be conducted by Security Services and two messages will be announced:

  1. A pre-recorded TEST message: “This is a test. This is a test. This is a test. This is not an emergency. This is a test.”
  2. An ALL CLEAR live message: “The building mass notification system test has ended. Please resume normal activities.”
