LAPP — pension reform proposals cancelled by the government

Submitted by on 2014/10/01 – 8:30 am

On September 18, Premier Jim Prentice announced that he was suspending the Legislature fall sitting until November 17. This suspension (known as prorogation) will end all business and legislation on the Order Paper before the Legislative Assembly including the Public Sector Pensions Plans Amendment Act (Bill 9) and the Employment Pension (Private Sector) Plans Amendment Act (Bill 10). The announcement further advised that Bills 9 and 10 will not be reintroduced under the Prentice government.

Please find below the most recent update from the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) board regarding the cancellation of these pension reform government proposals. Human Resources will continue to provide any further updates that are posted on the LAPP website.
