This weekend, nine students from MacEwan University’s Bachelor of Child and Youth Care and twelve students from the Social Work program will travel to Ireland for an exchange program lasting February 11-22.
Students will explore the approach to child and youth care in a country recognized for its philosophies and social practice. Understanding different perspectives and methods is a valuable skill in a people-first career such as child and youth care.
MacEwan University is partnered with the Social Care program at Athlone Institute of Technlogy (AIT). Students will attend classes at AIT; visit a variety of children’s education facilities and social institutions around Ireland; and visit tourist destinations such as the Peace Wall and the Giant’s Causeway.
